The Druk Path Trek is a moderate, six-day trek. This popular trek offers beautiful views as you cross the chain of mountains that separate the Paro and Thimphu valleys. This route is also famous for its spectacular rhododendron forests and wonderful high altitude lakes teeming with fish. There will be a number of temples and dzongs to visit on the way, and in the clear weather of late autumn and winter there are great views of the Himalayas. As well as being able to visit the sites of Paro and Thimphu before and after the trek, you may also enjoy a day excursion to the Punakha valley to visit the imposing Punakha Dzong.

Season: This trek is usually possible from late February to June and from September to December.

Basically, a low altitude forest trek in the area between Paro and Thimphu.

Day 1: Arrive at Paro, clear immigration and customs, I will meet as you exit the airport, and take you to the hotel. hotel. Orientation. Visit the National Museum of Bhutan and Paro Dzong. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2: Sightseeing in Paro Valley. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3: Walk/hike to Tigers Nest, Taktshang Monastery. Lunch at Taktshang teahouse with its spectacular view of the famous monastery. Overnight at hotel.

Day 4: Paro to Jele Dzong. Our trek begins with an easy 6-7km walk at a fairly low altitude, 2600m.

Day 5: Jele Dzong to Jangchulakha, This10km walk at less than 3000 m goes through alpine and rhododendron forests.

Day 6: Jangchulakha to Jimilangtso, 11km trail at 3350m.

Day 7: Jimilangtso to Simkota, Again, an 11km trail at about the same altitude.

Day 8: Simkota to Phadjoding, This easy 10km walk at less than 3000 m affords a views of several mountain peaks, including Gangkar Puensum, before we decend to Phajoding.

Day 9: Phajoding to Thimphu, This is an easy forest walk to Thimphu of about 8 km at less than 3000 m. Overnight at hotel.

Day 10: Thimphu valley sightseeing. Overnight at hotel.

Day 11: Tours of handicraft center and shopping in the morning; in the afternoon, visit Bhutans oldest Dzong, Simtokha, and then drive to Paro. Overnight at hotel.

Day 12: Drive to airport to check in for your early morning departure.
